This is a full-time, permanent work-based Apprenticeship in Retail. Apprentices train on-the-job towards nationally recognised qualifications.

Apprentices usually start training at Level 2, depending on their qualifications and ability. This is identified at an initial assessment.

Course content
The Retail NVQ Level 2 programme consists of six units (one mandatory and five optional units). The single mandatory unit requires Apprentices to demonstrate how they work effectively in a retail team.

Five optional units can be chosen from the following themes:

  • Receive and store goods
  • Process customer orders and returns
  • Prepare goods and produce for sale
  • Display and merchandise stock
  • Help customers to make purchases
  • Manage customer relationships.
